1. To reduce static electricity that builds up between sheets run off a copier, the paper to be bound needs to be fanned. Take a stack of paper, and practice fanning using the following technique:

- Grasp the sheets on both sides, holding them fairly loose.

- Bend the sheets as in the following diagram. While bent, exert pressure on the paper with your thumbs and fingers to gain a firm grip where the sheets cannot move.

- While maintaining pressure on the sheets, straighten out the stack of paper. This will bow the sheets so that there is air space between sheets. After air has been allowed into the sheets, release your grasp on the sheets as you jog them onto a flat, level surface. This is called fanning the paper. It is usually not necessary unless the paper has just come off a copier, where the pages contain a large amount of static electricity.

- Remember, it is the binding edge of the sheets which must be evenly jogged for a secure bind.

2. Place the thermal binding cover in your left hand (if you are right handed), and allow it to slightly fall open to create what looks like a wide V. Insert the fanned sheets into your scored thermal binding cover (make sure that you grasp the sheets tightly to maintain the uniform jogged edge). The sheets should be centered within the cover and placed on the adhesive backbone. Close the cover around the sheets. The first and last sheets should not stick up higher than the other pages. If you have uneven pages, take all the sheets out of the cover, rejog them and insert them back into the cover.

3. Next, place the document (spine side down) so the edge of the thermal cover is at the right hand side of the binding slot. The binding machine should automatically start and depending on the size of your document should determine the length of the bind time.

4. When you remove the bound document, tap the backbone on the table to help set the adhesive, and set the document(s) on the cooling stand to maintain the square backbone during curing. Make sure the document(s) are placed squarely on the cooling stand so that the backbone remains square during the curing process. This will provide the most professional looking finished product.

5. The document must cool before it can be used. It should remain on the stand for 3 to 5 minues. This time period varies depending on the thickness of the thermal binding cover. Obviously, a 1/16" thick document will cool faster than a 2" document. Ultimately, any thermal cover, regardless of size, will have reached full binding strength once the backbone is cool to the touch (approximately 15 minutes).

The Harley-Davidson Company or HD has been around for just over 100 years. It all began with two friends in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1903. William S. Harley stands for the H in HD. Arthur Davidson is one of three D's. The other two D's being his brothers, Walter and William Davidson. William Harley and Arthur Davidson began working on the prototype and eventually sought the help of Walter and William. Walter was a skilled mechanic. William was an experienced toolmaker. Together the group formed the HD Company, which was later incorporated.

During 1903 HD turned out a grand total of 3 motorcycles. All were bought and paid for before completion. Gray was the standard color of the first HD motorcycles, which were often referred to as the "Silent Gray Fellows".

By the end of 1905 the HD Company was not only selling motorcycles, but also motorcycle motors, marine motors, reversible propellers and float feed carburetors. The price of the motorcycle was $200.

The popularity of the HD motorcycle continued to grow through out the following decade. By 1914, nine departments of the federal government of the United States used HD's. The U. S. Postal service alone used more than 4,800 Harley Davidson motorcycles for rural mail delivery.

In 1916 the military began using HD's in border skirmishes with Pancho Villa. The motorcycles were equipped with machine guns. HD motorcycles were also used in World War I with half of all models produced being shipped overseas. The war also was responsible for the establishment of the first Harley-Davidson Service School. The HD Company saw a need and met it.

The 1920's brought an end to the war and a beginning to the world of racing. HD made quite an impact. Harley-Davidson suffered, but managed to survive the Great Depression and continued to prosper through the 1930's.

Unfortunately World War II came in the 1940's and HD was pressed into service once again.

The 1950's brought about new, more aggressive marketing strategies and expansion for this great company. Once again war broke out, this time in Korea. Motorcycles were replaced in popularity with the military with the Jeep. HD was free to concentrate on its civilian consumers.

The 1960's brought about as much change for HD as everyone else in the United States. This was also when the company began to branch out into an unrelated field of leisure product with the production of 3-wheeled golf carts. By the end of the decade these carts cornered about one third of the United States market, and were even used oversees. HD also began marketing an extensive line of motorcycle accessories.

The 1970's saw continuing success in the racing venue. Great advancements were made in the racing bikes that were produced by HD. In late 1970 the company also unveiled its brand new snowmobile. Perhaps the biggest change was the merger between HD and the AMF.

The 1980's began with a buyback, and the HD Company returned to private ownership. The company seemed to show a renewed interest in building better machines So much so that they won the contract with the California Highway Patrol in 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988 and 1989.

The 1990's were ushered in with the appearance of HD's most customized factory custom motorcycle to date, the FLSTF Fat Boy. This bike was reminiscent of the past while still being up to date with the times.

Don’t just know about the car and what you want your car to come with – know what each of these options cost… don’t guess or assume… There is profit to be negotiated upon across the board at any given dealership. Knowledge is confidence, and sales people will pick up on the fact that you know of which you talk and this will significantly cut down on the sales b. s.

Next – Leave yourself wiggle room inside your cocoon of happiness target. In other words never start with the price you want to pay. Remember, by definition here we are negotiating with another person… if you start with the price you want to pay; you’ll have no choice but to negotiate your way up and out of it. So, if you’re will to spend say $15,000 then start at $14,000 and work to create a win-win somewhere in between. And, oh by the way… no one in the dealership other than you has or will have NO IDEA of what you’re willing to pay.

Here’s a bonus tip – if the sales person kicks off the negotiations with the first offer, don’t counter with a number… that’s right no counter number… instead counter back with a pleasant … “I’m afraid that’s somewhat beyond my budget” … make them come back with another offer to get you in the game. Now you just gotten a newer offer and you haven’t even jumped in yet. The first offer from the dealer is usually their ‘home run’ swing… they don’t really expect you to serve yourself up at this point (although some do… and hence the home run in profit).

Keep in that this is not a one way street. You’ll have to participate and make some concessions in order for your deal to be a winner. For instance, if you can’t get to the selling price you want then get more for your trade, get an extended warranty at dealer cost, get some no cost service or oil changes, floor mats, … anything that keeps the deal moving forward and the negotiations open… don’t get hung up on ‘beating you opponent’ over just one aspect of the deal.

This is where many people get frustrated and either walk away after getting so close or just give in as a result of the frustration. Negotiating a car deal is a package not just a selling price. Sure the selling price is the focal point, but you have to give the appearance that you are offering some concession as well. In fact, as your target price get within range, don’t just agree on the price and then begin the delivery process. If you do… you will be in a much weaker position to negotiate any extras you may want such as that extended warranty… you see… make sure all potential aspects of the deal are in place before you shake hands on the price.

Affidavits are also affirmations

The affidavit is a written version of sworn statement: a voluntary oath before a notary public, judge or commissioner of deed, all of whom are authorized to administer oaths. Both the affiant and the authorized officer are required to sign the affidavit.

A falsely prepared affidavit will result to perjury, which is a criminal offense and is punishable in court. Severe punishment awaits those who dare tamper with facts and figures.

Filing of affidavit should be factual and truthful. People, places and circumstances or events should be accurate contents of an affidavit. The affidavit based on prefabrications is incriminating and will hold the affiant vulnerable to a counter lawsuit by the opposite party.

Affidavits should always be regarded with care and caution. A notarized affidavit is not something to brandish about or to be used as tool to destroy your enemy – perceived or otherwise.

The affidavit speaks for a person and of a person. Depending on the motives by which an affidavit is presented, affidavits can either be moral or immoral. Affidavits can be good or bad.

Affidavits, however legalese it can get, is also an affirmation of a person’s being. An affidavit can actually bares one’s soul for the world to know – better or worse.

The use and abuse of affidavits is common. Affidavits can make or break anyone. Affidavits can build or ruin an empire. Why? Affidavits spin off court litigations, small or great. Affidavit could be that minute cog of the big machine of justice or injustice. Take your pick!

I have a lot of emails from senior citizens who now have time on their side and are looking for opportunities in the Internet that actually work.

There is so much hype and baloney about how many millions of dollars you are going to make in next to no time with no work and all without any investment. I really do wonder about these people who talk such rubbish

Do they really think we are so stupid that we can not see a con, especially the crazy so called Opportunities we see all day and every day on the internet?

Mind you someone must be interested or they would not waste there time, which is a sad fact.

Having got that of my chest, there are good opportunities and business that do work if you put the same amount of input, structure and hard work plus the all important investment however small into them.

Nothing is for nothing there are no free lunches. It takes time and effort and above all the staying power to make it work.

There is no good starting a business and expecting it be up and running and making a profit in the first week.

When you decide to open a business in the High Street or were ever, first you have to find premises. Work out Leases, Decoration, Stock Buying, Signage, Packaging etc it can take a long time even months...

All this time you are not bring in a weekly wage or profit.

Then when you open the doors you have to put in a minimum of 8 hours a day work running your chosen occupation and waiting for people to walk in. Depending on the type of business you will very likely make a loss in the first year.

Something like 70% of small business do not even make it to the second year.

Now consider another point

A lot of people to day buy into a franchise, again many pros and cons, on the plus side you get an established business with help. On the other side you get a lot of negative interference and nothing is yours.

OK now the plus side of an internet business.

It is all ready set up much like a franchise but, you are your own boss. You can see everything you are getting from the start. All the marketing needed is on the internet

You need to investigate, check out and generally take as much care as you would in your High Street business, to find out how it works and if you think it is a good idea.

Now comes the big big plus. If it does not suit you can move on to another more attractive offer you might find. And a double plus is you can keep running the first one and add another.

In fact more than one is a fantastic advantage. Multi streaming is the way to go.

If one side is not performing as well as the other you just concentrate on where the money is coming from and the better program.

Tennis clothes should be comfortable

You have been playing tennis on and off over the years and have finally decided to get more serious about the game. You figure you can kill two birds with one stone by getting your exercise while doing something you like. Now, you set off to get yourself ready to play.

As always, you want to look your best, after all, you have always been a great dresser. The decision now is 'what should I wear when playing tennis?' Do I need special outfits similar to what pros like the Williams sisters wear or can I just wear casual clothing? Bottom line is that the decision is yours to make.

You can purchase a complete outfit made by any major manufacturer of sporting goods. These include Nike, Adidas, Prince, Wilson, Head, Babolat, Balle de Match, and there still many more out there selling good products.

If you do not want to invest in the special clothes, think comfortable. Your outfit should be loose and flowing as you will be running back and forth, jumping up and down and twisting in every direction as you try to hit the ball. Maybe you will want to just wear the clothes you already have in your closet or to purchase ones-either works as long as you can move freely around the court.

If you join a group or a club and play as a team together, you may need to purchase a team uniform.

Your group will select an outfit that may include a top, shorts, socks and jacket or a special short dress with socks and a jacket-monograms are also available and you can even add the team’s name to the back of the outfit.

If you have joined a tennis club, you may want to stop by periodically to see what other people are wearing. I am not saying that you should try to 'keep up with the Jones' here, but there may be an 'unspoken' dress code for players. You should be able to figure that out without embarrassing yourself by showing up inappropriately dressed.

Take time to go out and shop around for your outfit. If you do not have a lot of spare time or you hate to think about spending time at the mall on your day off, look on the internet. Just type in 'tennis clothing' and you will be amazed at the number of different web sites that will be listed.

Go through a few of these sites to get an idea of what you want-this is probably the quickest and easiest way to see literally hundreds of different options in just a few minutes. Many families make it a goal to have a picture of the family with their feet standing on every one of the fifty states of the union. Now, this is an ambitious objective to be sure and one that may take years to accomplish. But as your children get a big kick out of each new photo you take that adds to the count, you will be developing a wonderful travelogue of a lifetime of seeing the best America has to offer.
